| 内容記述 | 本稿は、近年のグローバル研究（Global Studies）に関する研究動向を概観すると ともに、グローバル研究の意義と課題、今後の方向性について論ずる試みである。グ ローバル研究は、グローバリゼーションをめぐる議論とともに発展しており、近年で は、より長期的な視点からグローバリゼーションを捉え直す議論も生じており、その 影響の多方向性と多様なあり方について論じられている状況にある。本稿では、社会 科学分野におけるグローバリゼーションおよび諸現象に対する認識のあり方をめぐる 議論にふれ、グローバル研究が学際的に発展している状況をふまえつつ、主な論点と 課題について検証する。特に、近年のグローバル研究におけるグローバリゼーション と「国家」･「市民社会」概念の関係をめぐる議論をはじめ、グローバリゼーション を長期的な視点で社会変動として捉える研究を通じて提示された論点を検証し、今後 のグローバル研究の課題と方向性について考察する。 |

| 内容記述 | This paper reviews the recent trends in global studies and discusses agenda and possible approaches for future analysis in a global perspective. While the global studies developed through discussions across the disciplines in social science, scholars discussed the origin, process, and impacts of globalization as well as the approaches to understand the phenomena. While this paper defines globalization as dynamics of relations and activities that go across the boundaries, it specifically analyzes discussion on the concepts of “state” and “civil society” along with globalization. Through a critical review of major works in global studies, the paper shows how the concepts of “state”, “civil society”, and “citizenship” have been redefined in a global perspective along with discussions of globalization. This paper also discusses how historical approach has changed the understanding of globalization from a social phenomenon to social change that requires us to have a long temporal frame of analysis. While the global studies emerged through interdisciplinary discussions on globalization, it would further need to strengthen theoretical and methodological grounds for a further development. |
