| 内容記述 | 本稿では，日本語の「誰」や「何」などの不確定代名詞の意味解釈にかかる制約について考察する。一般的に，不確定代名詞の意味はそれと結びつく要素によって決定されると考えられている。たとえば，「誰が来ましたか？」のように不確定代名詞が「か」のような疑問の助詞と結びつけばWH疑問文の意味になり，「誰が来てもいいですよ。」のように「ても」のような譲歩の意味を表す要素と結びつけばWH疑問文とは異なる意味解釈を受けるようになる。これまで，埋め込み文に置かれた不確定代名詞の意味解釈について真っ向から対立する二つの観察が提示されているが，本稿では本質的な問題点を明確にし，ミニマリティ効果からの適切な分析を提案する。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper considers some constraints on the interpretation of indeterminate pronouns such as “dare” and “nani” in Japanese. The general understanding is that the interpretation of these pronouns is determined by the element that is associated with them. For instance, “dare” is interpreted as a wh-element if it is associated with the question particle “ka” as in “dare-ga kimasita-ka?” It will not be interpreted as a wh-element if it is associated with a concessive element “temo” as in “dare-ga ki-temo ii-desu-yo.” In the past, there have been two opposing observations presented on the interpretation of the indeterminate pronoun in embedded clauses. This paper will clarify some fundamental issues and present an analysis based on the notion of minimality. | |||||
