| 内容記述 | 本稿では，民族学級が日本の公教育で施行，定着するまでの経緯について概観し，フィールド調査と 民族学級関係者らとのインタビューを参考に，民族学級の現状について記述を行った。さらに，民族教 育の場として民族学級が持つ限界と可能性についても考察を行った。在日コリアン児童にとって，民族 学級が行われる「空間」に入る行為は，それ自体で新しい「民族」の世界へ進入することを意味する。 子供たちは「本名」という新しい名前で互いを呼び合い，祖国と共有する歴史的遺産あるいは記憶を体 験することによって新しい民族性に目覚めていく。アイデンティティの切り替えが行われる民族学級教 室以外で本名を名乗る児童はいないことから，民族学級の成果に疑問を持つ視点も存在する。しかし， アイデンティティは可変的で複合的な性格を帯びている。児童の内面に吹き込まれた「民族」という種は， 彼（女）らをめぐる様々な環境と相互作用しながら，アイデンティティの再構築に貢献することが期待 される。 |

| 内容記述 | This research aims to describe the current situation of minzokugakkyu, cultural classes which are performed to learn about and build a Korean ethnic identity for zainichi Korean students at public schools in Japan, by reviewing literature, fieldwork research and interviews with the interested parties. It first gives a brief description of the historical background, the process of how minzokugakkyu came to be set up and established in the public education system in Japan with reference to the literature. It then also considers the possibilities and limitations of ethnic education in minzokugakkyu. As for zainichi Korean students, participation in minzokugakkyu class means entering a new Ethnicity World, where the rules of the world are different from outside. They practice the rules of the New World; they use different names and call each other with the names, honmyo which means a Korean style name. It is considered as a strong evidence for the students to promote their zainichi Korean identity. Some raise a question of the outcome of minzokugakkyu because the students do not use their honmyo outside the classroom. Identity, however, is fluid and flexible throughout the adulthood years, therefore minzokugakkyu allows zainichi Korean students to have an experience to reconstruct their ethnic identities in interaction with the environments throughout their life. | |||||
