To provide effective feedback to student teaches after teaching practice, and to make a basic evaluation scale of teaching skills, 26 evaluation items selected from the previous study, which were described from the point of view of concrete behavioural aspects were examined again. One hundred and thirteen school teachers who supervised student teachers and the same number of student teachers responded with their evaluation of students' teaching activities and students' own activities in the same way as in the previous study. The data were subjected to factor analysis and four factors were extracted as follows. The first factor was a combination of the two factors, clarity/accuracy and organization of teaching activity in the previous study, interpreted here as organization and clarity. The second was also a combination of two factors, feedback and interaction, interpreted here as responsiveness to pupils. The third and the fourth factors were tempo and use of blackboard, respectively. These four factors were constructed as subscales of the evaluation scale of teaching skills. Item 14 was excluded because factor loading of two factors was high. The Cronbach coefficient was .94 for the full 25 items and the first, second, third and fourth subscales had Cronbach coefficients of .90, .88, .79, .73, respectively. High reliability was also indicated. In this research validity was not examined but the result of the previous study indicated that teaching skills discussed above correlated with an old item which refers to the student's aptitude as a teacher.
