The main character of modern art is relativity. \nIts supporters claim that everything could be an art work. However, from the philosophy \nof art perspective it must represent some idea, and romantic philosophers even sought \nthe absolute meaning of art. For Schopenhauer, art was liberation from existence, and \nfor Nietzsche reconciliation with it. Both recognize the essence of the world in art, \nwhich is not an individual fantasy but an ultimate reality. The following discussion \nregards the Apollonian art as reality of reason in relation to nature and the Dionysian art \nas that of god in relation to mythology. Thereby, Schelling’s philosophy of nature and \nthat of mythology offer a deep insight into the identity of being and consciousness.
