The program was piloted in the Spring term of the 2014 Academic Year during the Reading and Writing (R&W1) class: a supplemental class for the Academic Reading and Writing course (ARW), one of the main academic courses taken by all students in the ELA. This report provides a background to the implementation of the ER program, including a rationale, a review of ER literature, and an overview of the approach taken. It summarizes quantitative and qualitative data collected from both teachers and students during the pilot project.
