This paper discusses some factors that influence grammatical judgments on the data concerning superiority and anti-superiority effects. Some WH-questions are unacceptable, and hence ungrammatical, when uttered in a normal intonation, but they become more acceptable when uttered with a special emphatic intonation and/or when a specific context is given.
