But only a few manuscripts of literary works from this age are extant. However, many works written during the Staufen dynasty in the 12th century still exist. Therefore, practically speaking, German literature begins with this age. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the verse from the middle of the 12th century to the beginning of the 13th century.
