First, this paper introduces the interview, which focuses on what the learner thinks after reading an article in a Japanese language textbook. Then, it points out that when the learner is given enough time to consider, one can come up with deep thought generated from deliberation with one’s past experience and information from the article, even though the content of the article is very simple. It also points out that contact with others, including teachers, help the learner deepen one’s ideas.
