The analysis was carried out from the viewpoint of learners' motivation. In terms of motivating students, this project has been successful when organized in the past 6 classes. In order to investigate the effect of this project on students' motivation, all the phases of the project were studied. The entire activity was analyzed on the basis of the authors' observation of students' involvement in. the assignment and students' comments; further, the effect and function of \"laughter\" -the core assignment-were examined. Consequently, the effective factors for motivation and the 6 functional roles of \"laughter\" were identified. The author concludes that these 6 roles are possibly responsible for effectively motivating learners.
