 note = {経済成長を急速に遂げ続けてきた中国においては，東南沿海地域と西部地域の格差，都市と農村の格
差，貧富の格差も同時に拡大されてきた．豊かな都会と相変わらず貧困な農村がますます対照的となっ
てきている．近年，西部地域の貧困問題が重要な社会問題の 1 つとして注目されている．それと同時に，
貧困地域における教育問題，中にはとくに不就学，中途退学の問題が注目の焦点となっている．しかし，
貧困と言っても，地域差があるだろうし，また，貧困地域の教育問題と言っても，地域や民族（主流民
族の漢民族とその他の少数民族）によって一様ではないだろう．不就学や中途退学は果たしてどの地域
においても貧困によるものであろうか，地域間や民族間に違いはなかろうか．本稿では，それを解明す
るために，最も貧しい西南地域と西北地域を取り上げ，4 つの県でのインタビュー調査とアンケート調査
の結果に基づいて，貧困と教育との関係を，就学現状に焦点をあてて比較検討する．それを通して，貧
困が教育に与える影響を考察する．, During the last 20 years, some areas of China have enjoyed the rapid growth of economic, which enlarged the rich and poverty between the eastern and western China, the city and countryside. Poverty, especially the poverty in the western China becomes one of the big social problems, and it draws much attention in recent years. Among all of the problems caused by poverty, the education problem of school age children in western part not going to school or drop-out of school brings even much more attention. It commonly regarded it is caused by the poverty. Is it so? If the poverty is the only reason of the not-going to school and drop-out of school, What is the relationship between them? How to understand the big difference of this status even in the same poverty area? This paper researches the poverty and education in the 4 poverty counties, 2 in northwest China and 2 in southwest China, by means of the questionnaire and interview survey in these areas.},
