These are manner adverb, time adverb, place adverb, domain/viewpoint adverb, speech act adverb, evaluative adverb, modal adverb, habitual adverb, and conjunctive adverb. (2) What are the syntactic and semantic differences between an initial adverbial and an adverbial on the right of a verb? There are some differences: sentence adverb vs. verb modifier adverb, specific vs. generic, and topic vs. comment and so on. (3) What are functions of the initial adverbial? One important function of an initial adverbial consists of being a topic.
