Recently, it has been pointed out that the problematic use of the Internet and cell phones can be related to hikikomori. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between hikikomori affinity, the problematic use of the Internet and cell phones, and cyberbullying experiences among youth. The participants were made up of 581 students (248 high school and 333 college students). The report from the government showed that the hikikomori youth spent more time on the Internet and posted more content there overall. However, the present study which examined hikikomori affinity was inconsistent.
