| 内容記述 | This short article attempts to report the results of student feedback on two ESP textbooks based on their use in 2018 and 2024, respectively. Two ESP textbooks—Basic English for Architecture: Listening and Speaking and Basic English for Architecture: Reading and Writing—were developed approximately eight years ago by one of the authors of this paper involved in the creation and have been used in an elective English course at a university in Japan. Several years have passed since these textbooks were published, so it is high time to reflect on them. Questionnaires were administered to students twice: in 2018 and 2024. The findings suggest that student feedback was generally favorable. First, an overview of the literature on ESP in Japan is presented, followed by the course profiles taught by the authors and the features of the textbooks. Next, student feedback is reported. Finally, the article concludes with a brief discussion on its implications for ESP. | |||||||
