Myanmar introduced Social Studies for the upper primary level in the 1998 primary curriculum revision, adopting the child-centered approach as its curriculum policy. The paper will discuss whether the event is an indicator for Myanmar to share the common language of modern. First, the unit of analysis will be considered, reviewing the curriculum studies in Sociology genealogically. Then, the relationship between curriculum model and Social Studies will be discussed from the aspect of the content of knowledge and the form of knowledge in the overview of the decline of Social Studies in England. Then, the characteristics of Social Studies will also be examined in comparing Geography and History in the 1995 National Curriculum in England and Social Studies in the 1997 New Zealand National Curriculum. The subject aims will be focused in this analysis because the aims epitome the content and the form of knowledge in the curriculum.
