At that time, a \"Period for Integrated Study\" was introduced as one of a set of new curricular innovations at elementary, lower and upper secondary level schools. However, many teachers have been confused about its objectives and, furthermore, have experienced it as an undue increase in their workload. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the significance of the \"Period for Integrated Study\" and to examine its effects on educational practice in two educational practicum contexts: in a pre-service teacher training program at ICU and in an in-service teacher training program at a Christian elementary school.
