There is an international tendency to introduce a combined/integrated approach when a nation adopts \"child-centered\" as a policy. This is the case of Myanmar as well. Education in the 21^, century calls for increasing child-centered and integrated approach in addition to the mastery of \"basics.\" The R & D activities among the teachers in practice, which was the driving force for the development of integrated curriculum in Japan, is considered as an effective measure of curriculum reform to meet with changing social needs.
