内容記述 | The challenge of teaching knowledge about global water issues, such as climate change, desertification, and other looming crises, is rooted in the complex nature of the global environment. “Systems thinking” is being drawn upon as an educational objective in some jurisdictions, but a deeper understanding of systems is a secondary-level objective, while the early formation of environmental attitudes at the elementary level is identified as an important sustainability goal. Such attitudes might be facilitated by nurturing young people’s empathy for groups of people suffering in far-away locations from problems with sanitation, water conflict, climate change, and other water-related issues. |
